Bellator finally went through puberty. After three weeks of little guys scrapping like kickboxing house cats, Bellator 38 introduced the MTV2 audience to cage fighters over six feet tall. Harrah's Tunica Hotel in Mississippi saw the beginning of the first ever Light-Heavyweight Tournament in the company's history. Also, the event included the submission of the night (if not year). Showtime's new costume soap kicks off tonight with Spaniard Rodrigo Borgia's (Jeremy Irons) corrupt ascent to the papacy in 1492 Rome. There's double crossing, sex, and murder aplenty here, as a cabal of cardinals plots to bring down the scheming Borgia clan. The storytelling can feel sluggish at times, but as the ruthless, morally bankrupt pope (dude has two mistresses and four kids!), Irons is at his creepy, dead-eyed-stare best. B
